Airport retailer International Shoppes, airline terminal occupier American Airlines, airport developer Westfield and the Port Authority of latest York and New Jersey all highlighted ‘the successof the new retail outlets at New York JFK Airport Terminal 8 earlier this month.
This took the type of an experiential event on June 14 where more than 12 of the terminal’s ‘A-list brandsorganised live demonstrations and activations after opening within the placement last year including several managed by International Shoppes, corresponding to Chanel, Kiehl’s, Jo Malone and others.
These new outlets are designed to enhance and invigorate the travel experience for both domestic and international travellers on the terminal, which showed off its offerings to travellers and guests at its grand event last week.

SUCCESSFUL RETAIL SHOWCASE EVENT
This was received well, based on Mike McKanna, Managing Director of American Airlines who said that both Westfield and International Shoppes have introduced ‘an entirely new shopping experience that really caters to our modern, sophisticated customers and they’re loving it./p>
In a press release from the retail and F&B management company, Westfield said: “Unique activations captivated guests, travellers and passers by at Terminal 8 last week.
“A professional ‘tie knotterprovided easy-to-follow tutorials at Hugo Boss, while handwriting experts analysed guestssignatures to reveal interesting personality traits inside Montblanc.
“Floral designers at Salvatore Ferragamo also created one-of-a-kind purses made completely out of flowers./p>
This follows the redevelopment of almost 10,000sq ft of post-security retail by International Shoppes and Westfield which currently features five specialty stand-alone boutiques, including Salvatore Ferragamo, Bulgari, Dior and Chanel that are designed to ’feedvisitors into the centre of the brand new 5,594sq ft duty free store.
Commenting on the success of the event, Matthew Greenbaum, Vice President, International Shoppes said: “Our roots are in luxury and we’re always trying to create the next level of retail excitement.
